Community Threads – Sew Day on Saturday, February 10 at Hickory Knob State Park“Come Stitch With Us!”

Members of Community Threads, a fiber arts program of the McCormick Arts Council at the Keturah (MACK) will gather on Saturday, February 10, at Hickory Knob State Park for a day of sewing.  We hope this Saturday session will provide an opportunity for folks from our community who perhaps work, or are otherwise unable to join us on regular weekday meetings, to come and enjoy the fellowship and creativity of this group.

No experience is necessary to participate in Community Threads. Our members are excellent teachers and coaches.   If you have a project that has been lingering, bring it with you. Bring your sewing machine if you have one, and supplies for your project.  If you don’t have a machine, let us know and we will bring a few extras.  We will also have some simple projects to get you started. If you knit, crochet, or embroider, come share your skill with us.  While most of us quilt, we are all about threads of any sort.

Community Threads also has a Community Service component.  We have ongoing projects to support our Humane Society and local service agencies that provide an opportunity for us to contribute through our craft.  We have a place for you in that effort if you are interested.

We will be in the Bordeaux Room, adjacent to the Restaurant, at Hickory Knob State Park, 10am-3pm, on Saturday, February 10.  Come for all, or part of the day. Drop in just to visit if you like.  We would love to meet you.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, February 7, to the MACK, 864-852-3216, and provide your name, phone number and/or email address, so we can prepare for your visit. Please let us know if you need a sewing machine as well.   If you need further information, contact Belinda Ramsey at
