MACK LEGACY PUBLIC ART PROJECT is revealed!

MACK LEGACY PUBLIC ART PROJECT:
Revealing a strong future through your contributions!

A fresh, new and engaging idea blends both fundraising for a worthy cause and public art as a gift to the community.  This original concept is designed to be vibrant, fun and engage the public while serving as an annual public addition to our community and fundraiser for our local cultural center.  The MACK will display the artwork on an approved semi-permanent structure in a highly visible location.  The artwork, however, will be hidden under black tiles.  15 early donors have begun the revealing process by peeling off the squares for their donation.  Each square is a $100 donation, tax deductible, and exposes another piece of the larger image.

The McCormick Arts Council will be the beneficiary of this unique project which incorporates a quilt theme integrating the four pillars of service through the MACK – art, culture, education and community.  The intent is to bring a a new piece of public art to our community each year.  These images will have an annual theme that relates to our community missions and partnerships – through the arts.  This first piece of art directly celebrates the achievements and vision of our cultural center in McCormick, the MACK.  This agency has provided service for 30 years. We look forward to Damion Johnson, artist, businessman and entrepreneur, to becoming an inspiration to our local students, while gently encouraging them to exploring new ideas and remaining creative.
